A toast to the lads o' Scotland those lads o' pairts
Who made Scotland famous in a' the airts

A toast to Robert the Bruce, and William Wallace who fought off the English
And gied us solace

A toast to John Logie Baird who gied us television
And another for Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin

A toast to John Muir, the pioneer of conservation
Walter Scott and Robert Louis, great authors of our nation

A toast to explorers Alexander McKenzie and Mungo Park
And to Burke and Hare, evildoers in the dark

A toast to the Alexander brothers, and to Jimmy Shand
Raise your glasses to the Proclaimers and the Alex Harvey Band

A toast to Rikki Fulton aka the Rev I M Jolly
And slainte to Alain Baxter, Olympic skier and Hielan’ totty

A toast to Charles Kennedy, John Smith, Donald Dewar, Gordon Brown
Scottish politicians of great renown

And so lassies and laddies, I rest my case
Raise yer glasses to a' oor Scottish lads, a credit to their race.
